More Lockdowns means Short Notice Opening Dates; add yourself to mailing list

08/11/2020: A two-week "fire break" lockdown covering the whole of Wales commenced on 19th October. The Welsh First Minister stated. "Everyone in Wales will be required to stay at home," with the lockdown starting from Friday (October 23) and lasting until November 9. "This means working from home wherever possible and the only exceptions will be critical workers and jobs where working from home is simply not possible."

England later followed suit with its own one month National Lockdown, supposedly to end on 2nd December. This means people from England will be locked down when Wales isn't. Most leisure, hospitality and tourism businesses cannot trade with very low customer numbers. It is not viable to open with only a handful of customers. Accordingly the castle will not re-open for Accommodation except at short notice for specific opening dates where we know we can open viably and safely. In order to plan events and opening dates, we need some certainty on what is 'allowed' at the time. In the current fast changing regulatory environment, we find we are planning for future events only to have to cancel them at short notice.

A solution may be to offer dates only at very short notice - a couple of weeks ahead only, notified via email to our mailing list and via Facebook to our followers. We can only open when it looks reasonably certain to us we can go ahead. We can then plan to open in line with any new restrictions applicable at the time. If you wish to stay with us, please get on our mailing list by completing the enquiry form on this page so we can contact you at short notice.
Kindly note that once you have booked a room, if you are unable to stay for any reason, you must cancel more than 48 hours before your date of arrival, as otherwise we will need to charge you the full cost of the unoccupied room to cover our loss.
